3 months and 30

Why do babies grow so fast?  I swear every morning I go to get Logan out of the crib he has grown! Sometimes I miss my small cuddly newborn, but I am also loving my super happy and smily 3 almost 4 month old.  He is such a happy baby and loves to talk and be talked to.  Logan always has to be doing something or be entertained. He doesn't not like to sit around or let you sit when you are holding him. He loves to stand up which is why I am loving the bouncer we got. Thank you awesome consignment store with amazing deals! He will just sit and smile while he's in it because he thinks he is so cool standing on his own. He loves to look in the mirror and smile at himself. Can you tell my baby is really into himself? He is just starting to giggle and it is so adorable, except he only does it at random times. The first time he did it I was simply changing his diaper, the other day he did it when a man from the newspaper was interviewing us about our sno shack (yes it is finally up and running, post about that later). Silly baby. He is sooo close to rolling over, but probably won't do it because he is so annoyed of me saying roll over, roll over you can do it. He also does this really funny face when we put him in the bathtub and we finally decided to recorded it, he also decided to add in a few surprises so enjoy! Well the video won't upload so enjoy this video of him laughing instead!

I just love him so much and am so happy I get to spend my days playing with him!

This is what we call milk drunk

Funny face

Megan made him this towel and he loves it!

On June 8th Tyson turned 30! It's so weird to me because he does not seem thirty. Also isn't it crazy that Megan's (my twin sister) husband and Tyson have the same birthday?! Since our niece got married on Tyson's birthday we celebrated that night instead. I made him some strawberry cheesecake and Logan and I made him go on a scavenger hunt around the apartment looking for 30 reasons we love him. Then we spent some much needed together time while Logan slept. Here's what 30 candles on a cheesecake look like :)

This past week Megan and Cody came to visit on their way out to Cleveland. We had lots of fun playing games, disc golf, going to the zoo and going downtown. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures and the only pics we have are on Megan's phone but I'm sure she will post them sometime. Also, Logan decided to have a cranky freak out day and I think it's safe to say Megan and Cody will not be having children anytime soon. :) Hopefully we will get to go visit them sometime!

2 Months, a Blessing, an Update, and a Windnado

Logan is almost 3 months old, but here are his 2 month stats anyway:
Height: 23 inches (52%)
Weight: 11 pounds 8 ounces (44%, I'm almost positive he weighs over 12 pounds now)
Head Circumference: 15 inches (12%)
Logan is such a happy baby. He loves to play and talk mostly to Tyson and I, but he is starting to do it more to other people. Most of the time he just gives strangers the stare down. He still loves to kick so we bought him a baby gym with a piano keyboard that he can kick and he loves it. He also loves to smile at himself in the little mirror. It's super cute and I'm so glad he has something else to kick besides my chest. He loves to stand up and push off things. He has been bearing weight on his legs for quite sometime now. When he is done playing he always wants to cuddle. I love how cuddly he is and hope he stays cuddly for at least a little while longer. He has recently discovered his hands and will just stare at them until he goes cross eyed. He is also becoming more and more aware of his surroundings. He loves to people watch and continues to be very alert. I just love seeing him grow and develop, and watching his personality start to develop. I can seriously spend all day laying on the floor playing with him. I just love him so much!
I was looking at pictures of him when he was just a newbie and I can't believe how much he has grown and changed already and it hit me that I need to spend as much time soaking in this baby stage because soon it will be gone! So enjoy some (maybe a lot) of pictures of my little man!

A bronco fan in the heart of Big Red!

He loves getting his diaper changed

He loves bath time and gets mad when he has to get out

Logan was blessed on May 6th and Tyson did a wonderful job! We forgot to bring our camera. So we took pictures with our computer at home. Which is okay cause it was super windy anyway. Also. Logan was blessed in the same outfit my little brother was blessed in! We can't wait for Carson to get back from his mission and meet Logan, who, from what my mom says, acts a lot like him!

As for Tyson and I the Sno Shack will be up and running June 15th. We had some complications with our previous location and with the city of Omaha, but we have been lucky to find a new location in Papillion off 84th and Lincoln (a much better location too!). For those of you Nebraska people it will be in the Papillion bowling alley parking lot, right by the Papio pool and fun park. So make sure to tell all your friends and family about us, like us on Facebook and come get a sno cone!
I just finished my last job and am currently looking for a night job. I loved my last job, but I hated being away from him during the day, so hopefully I will find something that I enjoy and that will work with my mommy schedule :)

While life hasn't been easy lately I am grateful for loving friends and family, an amazing husband and for my Heavenly Father and Savior. It is amazing to me that something seems like a trial and ends up becoming a blessing. I am so grateful that my Heavenly Father is always looking out for me and my family and guides and directs us to what is best in life.

Tyson and I are excited (a little scared also) for this new adventure in our life and we know that things will work out how they are supposed to.

On a side note...one of the joys of living in Nebraska is tornadoes. Since living here we have had several tornado watches, only one super serious one which turned out to be nothing. Well the other day I had just finished feeding Logan and I got up to go outside and check on my tomato plant (it's growing wonderfully I might add) and see if needed any watering. I looked out the back door and there was a questionable looking cloud staring back at me. Right while I am looking at the cloud a special newscast comes on saying they are watching this cloud (they show a picture) for a possible tornado. I notice that the cloud on the t.v. is the same cloud I am looking at outside. I get a little freaked out because Tyson is not home and I am thinking I have no idea what to freaking do in a tornado! Luckily Tyson gets home as I am finishing this thought. We then decide to go outside and take some pictures of this cloud (crazy huh, but everyone in NE does it). While we are taking pictures the cloud starts spinning! Freaky but kind of cool at the same time. Anyway it ends up going right over us without producing a tornado. You can bet I prayed some prays of thanks for that one! Oh how I miss Idaho somedays!
Oh and the weatherman said that it was a windnado not a tornado. In case you are wondering a windnado is a cross between a tornado and a dust devil, who woulda thought.

I Love...

Toothless smiles

Baby coos
Baby chub

Baby yawns

Funny baby faces
Cute baby outfits

Baby smell (the good kind :))

Baby grunts/noises
Baby kisses
Baby cuddles
Basically I love my baby! Oh and Tyson too :)

Logan is getting so big! He has his 2 month appointment coming up in May so we will have a better idea of how big he has become then. He is almost out of all of his newborn clothes and is now eating about 6 ounces every feeding. Good thing I love baby chub! He is super happy most of the time and is just starting to coo, which is so wonderful. He only likes to be held when he is tired or having a bad day (yesterday) and the rest of the time he likes to stretch out and play. He really likes to kick his right foot non-stop, sometimes he even kicks it in his sleep. Which leads me to believe 1. He will play soccer and 2. He is going to play forward just like his daddy.
Everyday I am so amazed that I am lucky enough to be his mom. Every time I get frustrated or am tired he gives me a little smile and it reminds me that all the hard stuff about being a mom is worth it. I have to go back to work on Monday and I am so sad to leave him. Luckily it is only for the last 3 weeks and 3 days of school and then I will start looking for nursing job that only requires nights or weekends. I am also hoping that someone will be willing to let me work just one day a week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just don't want to be away from him!
Some other exciting news...

We will be starting up a Sno Shack here in the next few weeks. I am sooooooo excited to eat sno cones whenever I want for free! A post on the Sno Shack will come soon, but for now go to the SnoShack of Omaha Facebook page and like us!

Growing So Fast

I can't believe my baby is already a month old! I was just looking at pictures from the hospital and I can't believe he was so tiny. Logan has already changed so much and I just love playing with him and cuddling him and pretty much everything about him. At his 2 week appointment he weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces (47th percentile) and was still 20.5 inches long (21st percentile) with a head circumference in the 8th percentile (I'm pretty sure he gets his small head from me, when I got new glasses a few months ago I had to choose from the kids section, good thing kids these days are pretty stylish). Here are a few other facts about my little stud: He is already super strong (at least I think so) and he is really good at holding his head up. He has even started holding his own bottle. He enjoys looking around and likes to know what everyone is doing. When he was about a week old he laughed in his sleep and he has continued to laugh, but only in his sleep. I can't wait till he does it when he is awake and so I know what he is actually laughing about. He smiles a lot and is starting to learn how to coo. I love playing with him and watching him try to make sounds, it is so stinkin cute.He aslo grunts all the time. Eating, sleeping, playing. you name it he grunts while doing it. He is a really good baby and only gets really cranky when he is tired and when we take the bottle away from him to burp him. He has started sleeping for about 5 hours at night and then another 3 to 4 after he has been fed which is oh so awesome. He is such a stud and we love him so much!

He refuses to be swaddled

Last week, my family came to visit and it was so good to have them here! We didn't do much, but I enjoyed having all the extra hands. After having 5 extra people at our apartment I felt very lonely when they left. I hope they come back soon hint hint.

I went running for the first time the other day and it was quite possibly the slowest mile I've ever ran in my life. It also seemed like it took super strength to push the jogging stroller, but luckily Tyson was there to push it for me. (It really wasn't hard to push, I am just so out of shape that my body couldn't handle pushing something while running). I can't wait till I can wear more then 2 pairs of pre-pregnancy jeans and old soccer t-shirts, at least I hope that day will come. So here's to me losing baby lbs (hopefully) and you having a fabulous day!
