Some Exciting News

Well to start off Tyson and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary this last weekend (while this is exciting news this is not THE exciting news, that will come later in the post) Woot woot! We made it a year!

To celebrate we spent the weekend in downtown Omaha (we live in West Omaha so more of like a suburbs area). During the day we went to the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens. There was over one hundred acres of gardens and it was beautiful. One of the best gardens was the railroad garden. They had replicas of all the famous buildings in Omaha and bunch of train tracks all made out of wood and organic material. Super cool! Here are some pictures:

They were featuring an artist at the gardens so heads like this were everywhere

Yay for one year!

After the gardens we went out to eat at Famous Dave's, enjoyed some delicious ice cream and then wander around downtown before heading back to our hotel. Tyson even offered to take me to the Keith Urban concert that night  even though he despises country (what a good hubby!) but alas, there was only one ticket left. Someday I will be serenaded by Keith...haha. All in all it was a wonderful anniversary and I can't wait for many more years and what's to come next! Speaking of what's next....

Yup a baby!!! This little kumquat (that's what size it is right now haha) was pretty unexpected but we are very happy. Tyson and I had been talking about trying to have kids sometime next summer but apparently the big man upstairs had some different plans for us.
So far everything has been good. I was super nauseous for the first couple of weeks which was why I threw up on the side of I-80, but I started taking my prenatals at night and have had no major problems since.
Today we went to the doctor for the first time and according to my lmp I am 10 weeks and 5 days, but according to the ultrasound I am 11 weeks and 2 days. My due date is either March 15, 2012 or March 12, 2012. I think I'm going to go with 11 weeks and 2 days due March 12th. It makes it seem like I am further along haha. The doc said everything looks great and we even got to hear the little heartbeat (175 bpm) :) it made me smile. The baby was also moving around like crazy during the ultrasound. This also made me smile, it wants to play soccer already!
Sorry this was such a long post! Hope you all have a fabulous day!

  7. Congratulations!!! On anniversary (you look beautiful in those pictures!) and on BABY! Holy cow that is so exciting! What a sweet little kumquat :) Does it ever just hit you sometimes like, "whoa, I am married and having a baby?! When did that happen? :)" We are coming up on two years and I still feel that (-baby) sometimes :) It seems like not too long ago we were struggling through nursing school and being crazy roomies together ;) I miss ya girl! If you ever want to come out to Boston we've got a room for you, Tyson, and little one.

  9. Do you realize that by naming the post "some exciting news" is synonymous for "we are producing a combination of our genetics into a little flesh ball of goo-goo ga-ga that will arrive in approximately 9 months?" You probably did know that, and that's why you chose the shorter post title. I hope that when you have the baby you have an alligator head in the room. Just like the one we put in our roommate's closet. Wouldn't that be great? "Child of mine, your first experience in the world was a prank played by your parents. Welcome to earth." Well I hope you grow that little rice bowl and all goes well. Tyson - you're the man. Apparently procreation is a form of recreation.
